Hey y’all! Thanks to everybody who reached out to ask questions and express enthusiasm about my online fundraising coaching program that opens its doors in March 2024. I have spots open for 10 people to join me in this first wave of signups. One of the things I wanted to let you know is, why did I do this? Why did I create this program? The answer is simple – fundraising should not be hard or uncomfortable. When I think back to 20 plus years ago when I was coming up in the industry, what I really wanted was a mentor. I was brand new to fundraising. I had no idea what I was doing. And truthfully, I didn’t know whether I was doing it right and books weren’t helping me. Books wanted me to put on a persona, and I was looking for something that was more authentic and truthfully felt like a good fit for the way that I was in the world; a bit introverted and a good listener – superpowers that came with me to my fundraising practice and that were already within me.
The program I have created is going to be great for an experienced fundraiser or a brand new fundraiser, we’re going to have online tutorials that you can work through at your own pace. The first goal is to get you out fundraising right away so you can begin to understand what feels good and how it happens. And then you come back and you talk about it in the group coaching sessions and in the online chat community where you can get feedback and you can do some processing for yourself. The idea is you are creating your own mentor. You are working with a community of trust, with a coach you can trust, and you’re also learning to find that good balance of intuition and data informed work that leads you to fundraising success in a way that feels good and natural to you. A way that feels like you at your best.
